Over the years, the audio manufacturer from Denmark, Bang
& Olufsen, has been known through audio products that offer a balance
between design and sound quality. Seeing the trend of portable audio devices
today, Bang & Olufsen once again applies its long experience in BeoPlay A1.
BeoPlay A1 has a very simple shape, elegant and sturdy
thanks to the use of aluminum material as the main frame. At first glance it
looks like an upside down pot, but its curve is very smooth, making it very
easy to put into a bag or pocket.
Its size is very compact, and weighs about 600 grams. In
fact, it is the smallest speaker that has ever been made by B&O so far. A
pair of amplifiers in this speaker is capable of producing sound power of 2 x
140 watts, and thanks to its rounded shape, the sound can be distributed 360
degrees.
BeoPlay A1 has a frequency response of 60-24000 Hz. Right in
the middle there is a sub-woofer with aluminum core material that's ready to
produce a steady bass.
B&O complements the BeoPlay A1 with Bluetooth 4.2
connectivity, plus a standard audio jack if required. The battery is claimed to
be able to survive for 24 hours nonstop, before it needs to be charged again
via USB type C.
Just as the majority of Bluetooth speakers, BeoPlay A1 is
also equipped with a microphone for phone calls needs. A button on the side is used
for receiving or rejecting phone calls which come to the smartphone.
Another feature that's quite unique from BeoPlay A1 is that
users can connect two units to get stereo sound. A leather strap allows users
to hang it on the wall, simply put, it can be placed anywhere.
B&O offers the BeoPlay A1 at a price of $ 249. It is
available in two color options: silver or green moss.
