Samsung has officially introduced its newest activity
tracker, Gear Fit2, along with a wireless headset Gear IconX. Comes two years
after the first generation, let's see what kind of updates brought by Gear
Fit2.
Seeing from the design, its waterproof body doesn't change
too much, except that it is now thinner and more ergonomic. The device is
equipped with 1.5 inch Super AMOLED touchscreen with high resolution of 216 x
432 pixels.
Gear Fit2 is orchestrated by 1 GHz dual-core processor, and
is supported by 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of storage. The storage can be used to
store and play song files, which means users can leave the cell phone at home
when they are exercising outside.
Gear Fit2 still brings the heart rate sensor, but the
feature that's really new is the presence of GPS, so that tracking can be done
more accurately. There is also the Auto Activity Tracking feature, where users
no longer need to manually activate the device to monitor a variety of
activities, ranging from walking, running, cycling, using rowing machine, or to
use the elliptical exercise equipment.
Gear Fit2 runs with Samsung Tizen, it is compatible with
Android devices, at least that's running with version 4.4 and has a 1.5 GB RAM.
The battery has a capacity of 200mAh, but unfortunately Samsung doesn't
disclose how long the battery can last.
So far there has been no information on the price of Samsung
Gear Fit2, but the marketing will be held from 10th June. It will be offered in
two sizes and three colors: black, blue or pink.
