Not only used as a place to launch new products, the Lenovo Tech World event becomes the right moment for Lenovo to showcase the concept of
futuristic technology. Their vision is clear: to provide a picture of what kind
of computing devices within the next five years.
At least there are three devices that look interesting in
this event. The three devices are actually a refinement of the previous products;
they get some experiments to present twist and breakthrough. We will talk about
Lenovo Cast, Smartwatch with Magic View technology, and Smart Cast.
Lenovo Cast
Lenovo Cast is a response for the consumer demand for
streaming device ala Chromecast. But the similarity of both products is only on
the word of 'cast', because both of them have different design and
presentation. When Chromecast comes in the form of stick, Lenovo Cast takes a
form similar to hockey puck.
Lenovo Cast saves an HDMI port (compatible to version 1.3)
and can be synchronized with Wi-Fi network like the competitor products. But
it's also able to access DNLA or smartphones, tablets and notebooks which have
Miracast, then produce a 1080p-quality video to the big screen. Lenovo Cast is
able to read a variety of video formats, can 'penetrate' walls, and effective
up to a distance of 20 meters.
Smartwatch with Magic View technology
Next, there is a smartwatch with Magic View dual display.
The technology brings a second screen in the wearable device to overcome the
small size display. The component is placed between the main screen and the
strap. When needed, you can approach it to the eye. The display will be 20
times larger due to the optical reflection techniques. Magic View can be used
to see map, photographs, even videos. The prototype version of the Magic View
smartwatch in the Tech World itself resembles the Motorola Moto 360.
Smart Cast
Smart Cast is a smartphone with a laser projector. The Smart
Cast can project the smartphone's content onto the wall or flat media for
presenting a video or a movie. Then when you want, the projector is able to
'divert' the role of touchscreen to the table, instantly turning it into a
virtual keyboard.
Smart Cast is claimed as the first smartphone with
integrated 'focus-free' laser projectors. The approach is different from the standard
digital light processing which has been presented first. Through it, you are
invited to enjoy mobile features in unique and fun way.
