Smaller than ping pong ball, NeoEye is ready to record 360 degree video

NeoEye is ready to record 360 degree video

Although the trend of virtual reality (VR) is very popular nowadays, but there are still some obstacles that must be faced, one of which is the limitation of the contents. Just imagine if all smartphones were equipped with a 360 degree camera, the amount of VR contents that can be enjoyed using a VR headset would increase rapidly.

That's the premise offered by this tiny device named NeoEye. It has about 3cm diameters, smaller than a ping pong ball, but it's ready to turn almost all Android smartphones into 360 degree camera.

According to its developer, Etron Technology, NeoEye is the tiniest 360-degree camera so far. It can be used easily, you just need to plug it into the smartphone's micro USB port, open the companion app, and a 360 degree video with the stereoscopic effect is ready to record.

After recording, you can directly see the results by using Google Cardboard or other VR headsets, and you can also upload them to YouTube or Facebook with ease.

NeoEye is scheduled to go on sale before the Christmas holidays this year. The price is still not certain, but Etron wants to offer it below $ 200. Early next year, Etron plans to release the NeoEye for iOS devices.
