Even though Skype is not an ideal
application for sharing files to friends, but can't be denied that Skype could
be an easy sharing tool when other options are constrained by supporting
platforms. To share files via Skype, users can simply choose a contact, click
on the share files icon, and then selecting the file from the local drive.
But now there is unpleasant news
for those who often share files to friends through Skype. Microsoft recently
makes some changes, one of which is the limitation of only 100MB shared files.
If you try to send a file that's larger than that, you will find an error
message that the message could not be delivered due to oversized attachments. Additionally,
the file that has been sent will also be limited its availability period, it's
only 30 days since it's delivered. After that, the file can't be downloaded
again.
But there is still good news from
Microsoft, now when users share files using Skype, the file will automatically
sync to all devices used. It means that when you send a file, that file can
also be accessed from a smartphone or tablet.
In addition, Microsoft also adds
the ability to resume that will be applied automatically. So, when you're
downloading a file and suddenly the connection is lost. You don't have to
download that file from the beginning when you have got the Internet connection
again.
Microsoft doesn't officially
publish these changes via a press release or official website, but only through
a support page at this following link.
