Google introduces Rich Card

Along with the Google I/O 2016 event, Google apparently has been experimenting with a new format for displaying the search results on mobile devices. This new format is called "Rich Card", and this is a refinement of the "Rich Snippets".

So if referring from the picture above, Rich Card is designed to provide a better experience for the mobile devices users. The search results are displayed in the form of a carousel which can be shifted to the right or left.

Each link will be represented by a card with a large picture, so if the search results include links to the recipes websites like the picture above, the display will be far more visual than the previous version.

For now, the Rich Card will only be applied to two categories of contents: recipes and movies. Users will only see the Rich Card when accessing the google.com in English language setting.

In the future, Google will apply the Rich Card on more diverse content categories, and will support more languages. Rich Card itself initially will only appear on Google mobile version before moving to the desktop.

For the website owners, this new format will become a new opportunity to make their sites look more outstanding in search results and be able to attract more visitors.
