Over the time, the wearable devices manufacturers more
understand that not all consumers want to buy a smartwatch. Some may only need a
smartband, others still can't be separated from the conventional watch, and the
rest may want a premium watch with activity tracking feature.
The French manufacturer, Withings, has started the trend of
analog watch that's equipped with tracking activity feature through Activité
line. But Garmin is now ready with a new competitor named Vivomove.
Vivomove's body is designed as elegant as possible, because
it is indeed an analog watch with three pointers. It comes in three variants:
Vivomove Sport, Vivomove Classic with a leather strap, and Vivomove Premium
with a stainless steel body and a leather strap.
At a glance you may not be aware that this watch stores
smart feature just like the activity trackers in general. Among the 8 and 10,
there is a black indicator line that will be filled when the user is doing his
activities and approaching the daily target.
On the opposite side, there is a red indicator line that
will be filled when the user has been sitting for long time. A striking red
color will be an effective reminder for user to keep moving in order to stay in
shape.
In addition to monitoring the activity, Vivomove can also
monitor the user's sleep pattern and quality. All the collected data will be
synchronized automatically with Garmin Connect application in smartphone for
further evaluation.
The rest, Vivomove saves all the good features that can be
found in traditional watch, such as water resistance up to 50 meters, a battery
life of up to a year nonstop, and elegant design ala Swiss watches.
Garmin Vivomove will be sold for $ 150 for the Sport
variant, $ 200 for the Classic variant, and $ 300 for the Premium variant.
Following the trends, the Classic and Premium variants will be presented in
gold and rose gold colors. It's also compatible with the standard watch strap
measuring 20 mm.
