Ease storage and sharing files through Dropbox makes it
popular among businesses. But in fact, Dropbox is also widely used in the
education field. According to Dropbox itself, there are already more than 4,000
educational institutions that rely on its service for various purposes.
Reflecting from there, Dropbox introduces a new service
called Dropbox Education. This service is created to meet the specific needs of
educational institutions. Its subscription fee is more affordable than Dropbox
Business, which is $ 49 per year.
In terms of features, Dropbox Education is almost the same
as the Dropbox Business. However, the available storage capacity is limited in
15 GB per user, not unlimited like Dropbox Business. However, as if there are
300 users in an institution, the storage capacity will reach up to 4.5 TB.
Although the main target of Dropbox Education is the
university along with its employees, Dropbox will still consider if for example
there is a professor who wanted to take advantage of Dropbox Education for the
small class in the laboratory and not for the whole campus.
Dropbox Education is already available and the educational
institutions that are interested must fill out a form on the site first as the
first step of registration.
