Some of you may think that the name of Jaguar Land Rover
(JLR) is synonymous with British luxury car manufacturer, but now the company
has enliven the smartphones segment by creating a number of smartphone
products. And now JLR has a plan to create its newest Android smartphone.
To implement the plan, JLR is not alone; this manufacturer
has cooperated with a consumer electronics company that also comes from England
named Bullitt Group, the company that previously has worked closely with
Caterpillar, JCB and Ministry of Sound.
Unfortunately, it's not explained the type of smartphone
that will be released by JLR, but as reported by Livemint, the smartphone will
run with Android operating system and resilient capability, so that this
smartphone will be targeting more
specific consumers, such as building workers, military or those who often do
outdoor activities.
This step has made JLR equal with other luxury automotive
manufacturers such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin and Bentley that also
have released smartphone products under their own trademarks.
Lindsay Weaver, director of licensing and branded goods at
Jaguar Land Rover said that “Incorporating iconic Land Rover design and
innovative technology into the mobile phone sector with Bullitt Group presents
an exciting challenge and fantastic opportunity to take the brand into a new
dimension.”
“An engineering and design team from Jaguar Land Rover
special operations will be assigned to the partnership and subsequently deliver
a number of bespoke applications tailored to Land Rover brand and product
values,” Weaver added.
Reportedly this British automotive manufacturer will release
this Android smartphone and accessories in 2017.
