Do you still remember with the Remix OS, an Android-based
operating system that has been optimized for a desktop device? Jide, the
developer team behind it, has just launched hardware for the second time after Remix
Mini.
The second hardware of Jide is an AIO (all-in-one) PC that's
created in collaboration with the Chinese manufacturer, AOC. This device is
intended for businesses segment, not for the general consumers as targeted by
Remix Mini.
Named AOC Mars, the PC is packing 24-inch screen resolution
of 1920 x 1080 pixels, ARM Cortex A53 chipset with 2 GHz quad-core processor
and 64-bit architectures, 2 GB of RAM, and two choices of internal storage: 16
GB or 64 GB. On paper, the specification might not sound too special, but we
must also consider the innovative Remix OS that runs in this PC.
The connectivity features that are brought by the AOC Mars
include a pair of HDMI ports, Ethernet, four USB ports and audio jack. To use
it, users only need to connect a keyboard and mouse.
This PC is being exhibited at CES Asia 2016 in Shanghai, so
far there is still no information regarding to the price offered for the AOC
Mars. According to the plan this device will be marketed in China starts from
next summer. Unfortunately, there is no information whether Jide will also
bring this PC to other market places or not.
