Not long after applying machine learning technology on its
mobile applications, YouTube is now testing a new feature that’s quite
interesting. A feature called Native Sharing is basically a chat feature in
YouTube mobile app.
When watching a funny or interesting video, many users are
interested to copy the link and share it with friends or family via instant
messaging applications, email or social media.
But with Native Sharing, all that can take place in the
YouTube app. There will be a new tab in the YouTube mobile application so that
users can chat and share video with other users without having to leave the
application at all.
So far Native Sharing feature can only be used by a small
group of YouTube users. Even so, they can invite anyone to the conversation.
YouTube may hope that this feature could be another reason
for users to spend more time in the YouTube app, and not moving to other
competitors such as Facebook and Snapchat.
