Good news for the loyal users of Facebook Messenger because
Facebook has just announced that all Messenger users can now make group voice
call in the application. So if you want to chat with 50 friends simultaneously,
make sure that you've downloaded the latest version of Messenger now.
The presence of this feature has been announced by David
Marcus, the Vice President of Messaging Products at Facebook. In a short
article, David said that users who have downloaded the latest version of
Messenger can start to try this feature by tapping the phone icon and choose
among their friends who want to chat with.
But from what is seen, for this moment it seems that you
can't perform the same way for video calling. So, you still have to switch to a
Google Hangout or Skype to do so. But this is only a matter of time before
Facebook lets you to enjoy the feature. Reflecting on the amount of users that
has touched the figure of 900 million people per month, Facebook should have
added the group video call feature in the next update in order not to lose the
momentum to achieve the next fabulous records.
The group voice call feature in instant messaging
application is actually not a new breakthrough. A number of other applications
have done so, WeChat for example, in last September they had offered the same
feature, even complete with video calling, and then followed LINE with capacity
up to 200 participants in a group call.
