Samsung releases the Samsung Safety Screen to prevent damage to your children's eyes

Samsung releases the Samsung Safety Screen

Samsung has just launched a new application that's designed to prevent eye damage due to the using of smartphone or tablet in a long duration and close range. Named Safety Screen, the application utilizes facial recognition technology to detect the distance between the device and the user's eyes, providing an ideal distance limitation in using the device.

When the distance is too close, the application will automatically give a warning message and turn off the screen. This application is specifically intended for children who are likely to use the device for a long time without thinking about the health of their eyes.

The Safety Screen will continuously work behind the scene in order to monitor the usage patterns of the device. It's designed to run when the users watch movies, play games, and so forth.

When the warning message appears, it will still appear on the screen until the users change the distance of their face from the screen. Once the users follow the advice given, the popup will disappear by itself. Parents can create a user name and password to prevent children from disabling the application.

The launch of this application is the form of Samsung's concern towards the phenomenon of device usage among children and adolescents. According to their research, looking at the screen too close will cause some health problems, such as headaches, blurred vision, dry eyes, fatigue, and brain tension.

To protect your children from the serious eye damage, you can download the Samsung Safety Screen via Google Play Store.
