Keyboard PC, or computer unit in the form of a keyboard is
not a new product. This kind of device even had been popular since the days of
the Commodore 64, but of course the device was not as portable as the new product
that's offered by Pipo.
In an event in Hong Kong, this Chinese manufacturer has
recently introduced Pipo KB2, a unique PC keyboard which is actually a folding
keyboard with a folding mechanism as used by Microsoft Universal Foldable
Keyboard.
So when it is not in use, the shape looks like a thick
notebook, but when opened, it is a computer with Windows 10 OS that's
completely functional. You can simply connect it to the screen via HDMI - or
you can also use the Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) - then plug the mouse if
required.
Pipo KB2 is powered by Intel Atom X5-Z8300 Cherry Trail
processor, 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage (plus a microSD slot). The
connectivity features include Wi-Fi AC, Bluetooth, USB 3.0 and 2.0, micro USB,
HDMI and audio jack. Interestingly, it's also equipped with 2500mAh battery,
which means the user can wear it for a few hours without electricity plugged.
According to its developer, Pipo KB2 will go on sale in May,
but there is no certainty about the price that will be offered.
