Microsoft introduced chat bots for Skype at the Built
conference last month, and since that time, the developer plans to gradually
roll out the bots for a number of platforms which will become a new hit in
Skype. Some platforms that will be reached are Slack app, Outlook, LINE and so
forth.
Now the owner of the Windows 10 has officially announced the
presence of Skype Bots Preview for two additional platforms, the Mac and web.
Previously Bots came in mobile devices ranging from iPhone, iPad, Android and
Windows Desktop.
As part of its plan to reach all the existing platforms,
Microsoft provides a brief note, i.e. concerning the presence of bot named
Murphy that’s programmed to help users to find a photo or create an image when
the answers given are not available in the form of a sentence. And the
Summarize bot which has an ability to provide overview of the web page when the
user doesn't have time to read the entire contents.
You can find both bots on the Mac by clicking the Contacts
menu and select Add Bot. Users are also given the option to find the available
bots.
While on the web platform, Microsoft adds the Discover Bots
menu in the left toolbar. There you can see a list of available bots. In
addition, on the profile page you can also find Add Bot menu.
But unfortunately the Web bots are available only in
selected countries, including Australia, Canada, England, Ireland, India, New
Zealand, Singapore and the United States.
