Blackberry recently has opened the beta testing of Android
Marshmallow for Priv. Through the BlackBerry Beta Zone portal, Priv users are
invited to try out the Android Marshmallow on their handsets and report when
they are encountering obstacles, considering everything is still in the beta
phase.
Marshmallow certainly brings a series of exciting new features,
such as Now On Tap feature which allows Google Now to understand the context of
the information in the application. Then there is Doze feature that will
improve the device's battery life significantly.
The settings menu has also been enhanced to be tidier and
easy to navigate. There is also an automatic backup feature for the app along
with the data, plus the device settings data. At the same time, BlackBerry is
promising a more complete security features than the regular update in every
month.
To obtain the beta version update, users can sign up in the
BlackBerry Beta Zone site using their BlackBerry IDs. Unfortunately so far it
has been full quota, because BlackBerry prioritizes the consumers who buy Priv
through Carphone Warehouse, Amazon and its own online store.
Even so, the users of BlackBerry Priv can still sign up to
be included in the waiting list. BlackBerry will select users in stages while
the beta program is still lasting for 4-8 weeks.
