Rows of Google Play apps that we know so far have diverse
variety of icons. Play Movies is symbolized by a red film roll, Play Music by
orange headphone, Play Books by blue book, and so on. So diverse, sometimes
users may think that they are made by different developers.
All that will change as Google has set up new faces (icons)
for all the Google Play apps. Since all of the icons carry the "Play"
word on the front, so now each of the icons will be packed in a silhouette of
"Play" button in its own color, followed by a visual indicator of the
medium type.
The use of these new icons will give a more consistent
impression for the Google Play applications, where all the icons now look
similar, though still fairly easy to be distinguished by color. Especially for
the Play Music app, the headphones image is changed to be a musical note, just
like in the iTunes.
The new icons of Google Play apps will be coming soon in the
next few weeks on all Android and iOS devices, as well as on the web.
