About two months ago, it was rumored that Microsoft was
testing its paid email service, Outlook.com Premium. Microsoft only tested it
with a small group, so there were not many details of information we could get.
But through leaks obtained by Thurrott, consumers now can
find out the payment scheme along with what features offered by Outlook.com
Premium. This service can be enjoyed with a subscription fee of $ 4 per month
and includes exclusive features such as five personal email address (can use a
custom domain), inbox without ads, and a more complete calendar sharing
feature.
The site also stated that users will be able to enjoy
Outlook.com Premium freely in its first year. The $ 4 fee may change in the
future, considering that Microsoft hasn't confirmed about these leaks. At the
same time, there is no certainty whether Office 365 subscribers will eventually
have access to this service for free or not.
So far Microsoft still doesn't want to reveal details on
when this service will be out of the test phase and eventually released to the
public. Microsoft had explained that the program is experimental, which means
it could be released one day, or not at all.
For now, users can try out the Outlook.com Premium only if
they have received an invitation from Microsoft, or the users must register to
be included in the waiting list.
