Following the announcement of Tesla Model 3, the company
that's led by Elon Musk has recently introduced a newer version of Model S,
after four years since it made its debut.
Tesla Model S 2017 brings a number of changes, particularly
on the front design. Its face is now almost similar to the Model X, where there
is no large grille that separates the two headlights.
Is the grille absence will have an impact on the performance
of the Model S? No, considering it doesn't bring any engine under the hood so
the absence of grille that functions as ventilation won't give any bad impact.
The shape of headlights also looks a little bit different,
where now the headlights bring adaptive LED bulbs thoroughly. The turn signals
consist of 14 LED bulbs that can be lit in three different modes.
Other update is given to the Model S' air filtration system,
which now has met the medical standards of HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air).
In theory, the system is able to filter out 99.97 percent of airborne particles
measuring 0.3 microns.
In terms of performance, it seems nothing has changed. The
battery option is still limited to 90 kWh. Even so, Tesla will offer faster
power charger that can deliver electrical current of 48 amperes (increases from
40 amperes), and there is also 72 amperes variant. The new charger will be
ideal for consumers in countries that have not been touched by Tesla
Supercharger network.
