Meanwhile the Samsung Galaxy Note, Apple iPad Pro and Microsoft Surface come with a stylus that offers the convenience of handwriting and drawing, the use of physical pen and paper is still favored by many people because it feels more natural. This is the reason why companies like Moleskine can still survive in the middle of digital technology innovation.

But digital technology does have its own advantages, especially in the terms of archive, where the digital notes and sketches are easily stored and then distributed to other people. Moleskine itself also understands about the importance of this, and this company introduces a new solution called Moleskine Smart Writing Set.

Smart Writing Set consists of three components: pen, book and mobile application. The pen which is named Pen+ is special not only because the frame is made of aluminum, but it also features a hidden camera that acts as a digitizer to all that’s written or drawn on paper.

The book which is called Paper Tablet has a textured paper that's specifically designed to be writing and drawing media before finally it's converted into digital format. Lastly, the Moleskine Notes App becomes the storage center of physical notes and sketches that have been converted into digital version.

Smart Writing Set works in a simple way. Users only need to connect the Pen+ to smartphone via Bluetooth, and start to write or draw on Paper Tablet. While doodling on Paper Tablet, the results will appear real time in digital version at Notes App.

On each Paper Tablet's sheet, there is a letter symbol at the right end of the page. Touch the symbol with the Pen+, then the notes or sketches that have been made will be sent directly to others in digital version through the Notes App. The synchronization between the analog and digital world becomes the main selling point of Smart Writing Set.

The notes or sketches that have been digitally stored in the Notes App can still be improved. Users can edit it freely, like adding colors, or simply make a text transcript of their handwriting.

Pen+ and Paper Tablet can actually function like a regular pen and notebook; they don't need to be connected to the smartphone all the time. The Pen+ is equipped with memory component that's able to save up to 1,000 sheets of content. When users connect the Paper Tablet to a smartphone, all the notes or sketches that have been made offline will be converted into digital version.

Smart Writing Set is now sold for $ 199. When the book has been full, users can buy the additional Paper Tablet for $ 30.
