Canon announces a new DSLR camera, Canon 1DX Mark II

Although recently the mirrorless cameras are getting sophisticated, but Canon wants to prove that there is still a privilege that can be offered by a DSLR camera. This Japanese manufacturer unveils the latest generation of its DSLR camera, the Canon 1D X Mark II.

Canon claims this camera as an amazing combination between innovation and improvement, relying on power and speed above all else. Behind its large body, Canon has instilled new full-frame sensor resolution of 20.2 megapixels. This sensor is very sensitive to light, with ISO range of 100-51200 (can be increased up to 409 600).

The new sensor is accompanied by a pair of DIGIC 6+ processors that are responsible for the camera's agility. Canon 1D X Mark II can take photos without stopping at speeds of up to 14 fps in autofocus position is on. If that's still not fast enough, there is also shoot option in 16 fps. And what’s about its autofocus performance? Canon 1D X Mark II is still packing 61 focal points, but the whole reachable area is now wider, so its performance can be more flexible.

Canon 1DX Mark II is equipped with the ability to record 4K video in 60 fps. Even more special, this camera is capable of recording video in a very long duration - up to about 30 minutes at a time. Do you like slow-motion? This camera is ready to record full-HD video in a speed of 120 fps.

However, the most interesting new feature is called Digital Lens Optimizer. This feature essentially allows the Canon 1DX Mark II to recognize the weaknesses of paired lenses, and then fix them in real-time. The common weaknesses are chromatic aberration, distortion and blur when using a small aperture. Usually, the photographer will correct these deficiencies after the shooting by the help of certain software. But in the case of Canon 1DX Mark II, that extra step could be skipped.

Physically, Canon 1DX Mark II has not changed much compared to its predecessor. Nevertheless, the 3.2-inch LCD is now equipped with a touch panel, allowing the user to adjust the focus point simply by touching the screen. The resolution is increased at 1.62 million dots.

This large body also gives good impact to the battery durability. Canon 1DX Mark II can be used to capture up to 1,210 photos before the battery needs to be recharged. As a complement, Canon also has equipped this camera with GPS module. Canon plans to market the Canon 1DX Mark II from next April at a price of $ 5,999, not including the lens.
