Asus ROG is known in the gaming industry through its tough
laptops line. Nevertheless, its name may not be as famous as Razer or
Steelseries when talking about PC peripherals. Asus has to prove that it's
capable of producing excellent peripherals that can grab the attention of many
gamers.
Asus has just introduced its newest gaming keyboard, Horus
GK2000. Named after the Egyptian god of war, Asus claims that this keyboard is
intended for gamers who prioritize speed and precision level to win the virtual
battle.
The overall chassis is made of 3 mm thick aluminum plate.
It's tough, but at the same time looks elegant thanks to the matte finish on
whole of its body. Its appearance itself is quite unique, resembling an eagle
that's often used to symbolize the god Horus.
Each button is equipped with Cherry MX Red mechanical switch
that's very reliable. On the left, there are four macro buttons that can be
programmed up to three layers, giving a combination of 12 extra functionality rights
at the user's fingertips. To move from one layer to another, you can simply
press the "ML" button at the top.
Horus GK2000 also brings a pair of rotary knobs on the right
side to adjust the volume and brightness levels of its red LED lights. This LED
can be lit in five different modes, and users are also free to set it at will
using the companion software.
At the bottom, you can see a removable large-sized palm
rest. Not only that, Asus also equips this keyboard with another removable
accessory in the form of a holder for smartphone. This holder can be placed on
the right or left side.
Horus GK2000 also brings a pair of USB ports and a headphone
jack. So you can plug the flash disk at one port, and another one can be used
to recharge the smartphone's battery.
Unfortunately, Asus hasn't revealed the Horus GK2000 launch schedule or its
price tag.
