Parrot, as one of the pioneering companies that make and
distribute drones to the general public has just introduced its latest drone at
the International Consumer Electronic Show (CES 2016) that's held in Las Vegas
this week.
The Parrot's latest drone is named Disco Drone, it comes
with advanced features and latest technology. Its appearance looks different
because it looks like fixed-wing aircraft which is able to fly easily, so that
anyone can play this drone without requiring a complicated learning process.
Parrot has made the Disco Drone since two years ago in order
to give a unique design with two wings just like a conventional aircraft. With
a weight of 700 grams, Disco Drone can fly for 45 minutes at speeds below 50
miles per hour (or 80 km per hour). It also has 14 megapixels camera that's
able to record HD video with a resolution of 1080 pixels. The camera that's
pinned at the front of the Disco Drone is the same as the camera component
that's brought by Parrot Bebop 2 which had been launched a few months ago.
Just like other Parrot's drones, Disco Drone also comes with
a number of sensors such as accelerometers, gyroscope, magnetometer, barometer,
and GPS. Those sensors serve to control the drone when flying.
To start flying, user only needs to throw the Disco Drone to
the air, and then the drone will automatically adjust and balance itself before
the user can control it via a Wi-Fi connection.
Disco Drone can be connected with a smartphone or tablet as
a controller to help user to control the drone just like playing games. Disco
Drone also comes with a feature that allows user to plan the flight path in
advance through the application that's installed on a smartphone or tablet.
Disco Drone that's displayed at CES 2016 is still a
prototype version, while the commercial version will be released to the market
at the end of 2016.
