Throughout its work, YouTube never charges any cost from the
users. This service relies on the revenue from advertisers, just like Google as
its parent company. Some ads indeed can be skipped after few seconds, but there
are also some ads that must be played till the end.
From there, some YouTube fans start to express their
opinions. They want to get an option to enjoy YouTube without any interruptions
at all. They don't mind to spend some money as the form of their support for
Youtube and also content creators.
And YouTube then gives an answer, starting next week,
precisely on October 28th 2015; YouTube will present a subscription service called
YouTube Red.
By paying $9.99 a month, users will be able to enjoy all the
videos on YouTube without disturbed by any ads. In addition, by subscribing to
YouTube Red, users will have the option to save the videos offline and the
ability to run videos in the background.
Furthermore, starting next year the YouTube Red subscribers
will also get access to exclusive contents from the YouTube's biggest stars.
One of them is a series called 'Scare PewDiePie', which is a collaboration
between the creator of 'The Walking Dead' TV series and PewDiePi as the YouTube
channel owner who has the highest number of subscribers.
And what about the YouTube users who don't subscribe to
YouTube Red? Google explains that there will be no change. They can still enjoy
all the contents available without exception. However, they will still see ads
here and there, and can't enjoy the exclusive contents that are intended for
customers of YouTube Red.
In the same occasion, Google also announces the presence of
a new application called YouTube Music that will be released in the near
future. Simply put, this application is YouTube's effort to enliven the curated
musical trend which becomes a major theme in the competition of music streaming
service.
Every video that you like on YouTube Music will be saved in
a playlist that can be played offline. You can choose the video quality to be
saved, or if you only care about the music, you can store it in the form of
audio only.
As mentioned before, YouTube Red will be available from 28
October, but only for users in the United States. The users can try it for free
for one month. Google has promised to bring YouTube Red to other regions as
soon as possible.
