Several criteria for future car development are the
integration of smart features and comprehensive connectivity for ease of use.
Some automakers also focus on eco-friendly factors, trying to suppress the
results of carbon emissions to a minimum level. However, in the design of
Nissan's new concept car, this company brings a unique idea.
To greet the Tokyo Motor Show 2015, the Yokohama-based
company introduces the Teatro for Dayz, a concept vehicle for the digital
generation people who have accustomed to changes, and often express their
freedom through digital services. Simply put, Teatro for Dayz is a special car
for the lovers of internet and social media. And interestingly, Nissan gives a
radical design approach.
For working or entertaining purposes, millions of people in
the world can't be separated from the monitors - whether in mobile, PC or TV.
Nissan reflects this habit by applying a wide panel in the interior of the
Teatro for Dayz: dashboard, front seats, headrests, and also rear seats. Nissan
describes this idea as a 'canvas of the future'; a medium to be creative, a
medium to express ideas and share experiences.
But can Teatro for Dayz be categorized as a vehicle? Yes,
according to Nissan, the car is still presenting a steering wheel, seats and two
pedals. But uniquely, the display technology given is able to change the
interior accessories into moving screens. It can be changed instantly to follow
the mood of users: for playing games or accessing social networking. Nissan's
vision is to make the Teatro for Dayz to be able to provide inspiration for
users.
On the side of practical use, Nissan utilizes motion sensor
and voice control techniques to minimize the presence of buttons and analog
switches. When driving, Teatro for Dayz displays complete navigation
information and instrument panel. But when parking, everything won't be
displayed.
The exterior design is made simple, with short front and
rear parts, and the tires are positioned at the end of the car's sides. The
doors are opened in opposite directions without B pillar. Nissan decides to
adopt the headlights and grille 'V' typical of this company’s vehicles, but
eliminating the aspects that indicate aggressive impression such as speed and
size. According to the manufacturer, the identity of Teatro for Dayz is
determined by the owners.
Although for this moment the Teatro for Dayz is still in the
form of ideas, Nissan feels confident that the car is able to attract a lot of
customers, and at the end Teatro for Dayz can be released to public.
