In IFA 2015 Philips succeeded in drawing a lot of attentions
by announcing its first 4K TV named Philips Ambilux.
Philips Ambilux is very unique because it can project all
visuals that are played on TV to the field behind it. This can be done because
of the presence of 9 mini projectors that have been planted behind the panel.
In practice, these mini projectors are presented only to produce visual tricks,
not for enjoying contents on the TV.
The visuals that are generated by the projectors are aimed
to create lighting nuance in the room so that the users can enjoy a better
viewing experience. In fact, when playing a video clip and select the Ambilight
Music mode, the lighting levels from the projectors can adjust the rhythm of
the music that's being played.
Philips Ambilux TV comes in a size of 65 inch with a panel
of 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels), which is designed almost without a frame. The audio
is supported by 30W speaker with DTS support and has been equipped with four
HDMI 2.0 ports and three USB 3.0 ports to connect to other devices.
Philips Ambilux TV also runs the Android TV operating system
with the support of 16GB internal memory that's big enough to fill a variety of
applications or games from the Google Play Store. Moreover, the purchase package
of Philips Ambilux TV has been accompanied with a remote that’s equipped with a
QWERTY keyboard, swipe pad, and supports voice commands.
According to the plan Philips Ambilux TV will begin shipping
in the fourth quarter of 2015.
