The shape of room gives big effect to the acoustic quality you
can get. Each recording studio or theater requires precise calculations to
obtain the best acoustic quality needed. But it will be too complicated and
expensive if we have to pay an acoustic expert to design each room in our house
just to get optimal sound from the speakers we have.
A startup from United States offers a solution without
requiring consumers to pay an acoustic expert to design their homes. The
developer creates a clever speaker that can adapt the sound to the shape of the
rooms in your house.
HiddenHub has a shape like a giant hockey puck. Inside this
device there are four drivers and a subwoofer. With Adaptive Sound technology
that's created by the developer, the HiddenHub will adjust the sound
distribution of each driver so that the whole corner of the room can be
'covered' by the sound. Simply put, no matter wherever you are in the room, you
will hear the same sound quality.
HiddenHub can be put not only on the table; it's equipped
with an accelerometer to understand the orientation. In other words, it can also
be tethered to the wall, and the sound obtained is equivalent to the produced
sound when it is positioned horizontally on the table - the sales package
includes a holder that can be fitted with two small screws.
HiddenHub is equipped with almost all types of existing
wireless connectivity, ranging from Bluetooth, Wi-Fi (AirPlay and DLNA) and
also via optical cable to obtain flawless sound quality. HiddenHub can even
create its own Wi-Fi network without connecting to a router.
Multi-room system is also presented in this device. Users
can connect multiple HiddenHub at once, placing each of them in different
rooms, and control them all through a single application. Or if you're next to
it, you can use the bezel on the upper surface to set the course of music;
swipe to set the volume, and tap to play/pause the music.
This smart speaker relies on battery as a power source. One
time of charge can provide approximately 12 hours of music playback, or you can
also plug it into an electrical outlet continuously. In a dim room, the
HiddenHub will emit a soft blue light. Users can adjust the level of brightness
in order to get a fit mood in accordance with the music that's being played.
If you are interested in having the HiddenHub, you can order
it through Kickstarter at a price of $ 349.
