Bugatti Veyron, this French supercar was carrying the title
as the fastest car in the world that's legally driven on the road with a
maximum speed of 430.9 km/h. But the golden era of Veyron is over now, after a
decade of running and 450 units had been sold to the super-thick pockets people
- one unit of car was priced around $ 2.6 million - Bugatti Veyron finally
retired in last March, precisely at the Geneva Motor Show.
But Bugatti never stops to make new innovations. This
manufacturer wants to start a new era of a supercar; it’s experimenting with
the design of car from the Gran Turismo 6 game. From there, the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo is created.
Yup, this is a virtual car, but Bugatti seems to take the
same step as Renault. At the Frankfurt Motor Show 2015, Bugatti makes this virtual
supercar alive! Bugatti shows off the sexy curves of its supercar through a
prototype car which’s built in carbon fiber frame.
Bugatti explains that the car illustrates the design
philosophy of its brand in the future, taking inspiration from Le Mans racing
car in 1920s and 1930s, but at the same time also brings a futuristic look as
an evolution of the Veyron.
Broadly speaking, the character of the body is still the
same, especially on the nose along with its grille. A massive sized spoiler
adorns the rear part, connect to a sort of fin up on the roof of the car.
Bugatti is not designing this car just to make it look sexy, but also considers
the aerodynamic factors through a series of simulations that have been done.
Following the racing character that has become the DNA of
Bugatti, the W16 engine configuration is trusted to be a 'booster rocket' for
this supercar. The maximum speed will certainly exceed 400 km/h, and is likely
to surpass the achievement of the Bugatti Veyron.
The racing character still continues into the cabin,
especially with two-tone colors that bind the various panels. The driver will
be faced with two concave screen panels - one in the steering wheel and one in
the usual place - to provide all relevant information clearly.
The screen behind the wheel will display the image of
situation around the car that's obtained from the three cameras that are
mounted on the exterior. This feature is crucial because the rearview mirrors are
so small in order to establish aerodynamics as much as possible.
According to some rumors, this supercar will be named
Bugatti Chiron as an appreciation to the F1 driver Louis Chiron who had brought
the Bugatti name on the podium. When it's released later, the design will
likely be different. But at least we already have an image about the next-gen
supercar through the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo.
