Six months ago, Audi was showing off its electric supercar,
Audi R8 E-Tron. Audi developed the E-Tron technology with a focus on
efficiency. The result was not disappointing; Audi R8 E-Tron could surpass the
power efficiency of the Tesla Model S.
Now again Audi wants to compete with Tesla through a concept
car. Named Audi E-Tron Quattro Concept, this SUV car will compete with the
Tesla Model X - which will undergo its debut in the near future. Because it
carries the name of E-Tron, so it will use pure electric energy as the power
booster.
At a glance the Audi E-Tron Quattro Concept looks like Audi
Q7 or Prologue Allroad, but with some indentations that look more futuristic.
Inside this car there are three electric motors - one in front and two on
behind. The output power reaches 429 horsepower, and acceleration from 0-100
km/h can be reached within 4.6 seconds.
But the fierce performance alone is not enough to describe
the pride of Audi towards its E-Tron technology, the 95kWh battery that's
embedded in this concept car can bring it up to 500 kilometers. Interestingly,
Audi also provides wireless charging feature that's accompanied with parking
guidance system so that the driver can align the car with the charger plate.
The most interesting feature is the entire roof of this car is
made of solar panel. Yup, this car can recharge the battery by itself when you
drive it under the sun.
Unfortunately Audi hasn't revealed the detail features of
this car, such as the advanced technology that's pinned into the cabin.
According to the plan, on 2018 the Audi E-Tron Quattro Concept will become a
reality.
