Xiaomi debut in the wearable devices competition is quite
phenomenal. As we know, the Xiaomi Mi Band had been sold more than 1 million
units in just 3 months. Certainly one of the most influential factors for this
success was of course its low price, only $ 13 each unit.
After more than a year since the Mi Band was released, now
there is a new fitness tracker named Amazefit that's made by Huami Technology,
which is the manufacturer that's trusted to produce the Xiaomi Mi Band - Xiaomi
itself is an investor of Huami Technology.
Amazefit looks like a mini donut that's connected to strap
that's available in various shapes and sizes. User is free to wear it on the
wrist or around the neck. Amazefit uses zirconia ceramic material which looks
luxury and very sturdy. This wearable device is also water resistant and comes
with IP68 certification. Amazefit battery only has a capacity of 15mAh, but
Huami claims that Amazefit can operate up to 10 days, and already supports
wireless charging.
Amazefit is designed to monitor physical activity, quality
of sleep and continue the phone call or alarm notification through vibration.
Interestingly, the device is claimed can also control a variety of smart home
devices, such as to switch off the smart bulb automatically when the user is
asleep.
Compared to Xiaomi Mi Band, the Amazefitls material is much
more premium. For now it's only marketed in China at a price of 299 Yuan.
Unfortunately there is no information about its availability in other
countries.
