Although smart TV is not a new thing anymore, but in reality
there are many people who still use regular TV. Why? Because most consumers
don't use TV as a portable communication device such as a smartphone, moreover
there are only few consumers who buy a new TV every year.
However, it would be interesting if we could change any
regular TV to be a smart TV without having to buy a new one. This is what's
offered by a company from San Francisco, Touchjet. They recently introduce a
new innovation called Touchjet Wave through Indiegogo.
You just need to attach the Touchjet Wave at the top of the
TV, and connect the cable into the HDMI port. This tool is used to change the
entire screen panel into a giant touch screen that can even read a number of
gestures such as swipe or pinch-to-zoom.
Touchjet Wave is utilizing bleeding-edge infrared technology
to recognize the touch of a finger across the screen. The data processing
component will then translate all the infrared-based input into a gesture
that's understood by Android devices.
Touchjet Wave is actually an Android device that's not
accompanied with a screen - the TV will become its screen. Inside this device
there is a series of components that you normally find in a smartphone, such as
ARM processor, 8 GB internal storage, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. It's
running the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system that's accompanied with
Touchjet UI.
Because it's running the Android OS, then you can download
various applications available on Google Play. Thus, even if your TV is not a smart
TV, you can still play Fruit Ninja or watch videos on YouTube by using the
Touchjet Wave.
When you want to relax while watching a movie on the couch,
you can use the Touchjet Wave companion application that will turn your
smartphone into a remote control. Of course, you can also forward the contents
stored on the smartphone toward your TV that has been fitted with Touchjet
Wave.
In addition to give entertainment in the living room,
Touchjet Wave can also be used on a TV monitor in the meeting room in the
office. Touchjet Wave comes with a stylus, which means you can make important
graffiti on a presentation slide that's being displayed, or just for
brainstorming with a team.
So what kind of TV that will be compatible with Touchjet
Wave? Any 20-80 inch TV that's equipped with an HDMI port, either the 720p,
1080p or 4K.
Touchjet Wave is offered on Indiegogo at a price of $ 99 per
unit, plus $ 30 for international shipping cost.
