If you often take a screenshot on a PC, perhaps you have
been familiar with the Snipping Tool. Snipping Tool itself has been around
since the days of Windows Vista, but so far it hasn't received major update,
even in Windows 10 platform.
But there is a little surprise from Microsoft. Rather than
updating the Snipping Tool, they prefer to introduce new application that
brings more features. Named Microsoft Snip, this application allows Windows
users to take screenshot, and then create graffiti and add audio to it,
changing the screenshot into a tutorial video instantly.
After installed, Microsoft Snip will appear in the form of a
toolbar at the top of the screen. You are free to put this toolbar anywhere -
at the top, on the left side or right side - and it will hide automatically
when not in use. There are three main buttons on the Microsoft Snip: Capture,
Whiteboard and Camera.
As the name implies, Capture serves for taking screenshot on
the screen. Interestingly, when you point the mouse cursor to a specific window
application, Microsoft Snip can take a screenshot in the window, so you don't
need to bother to fit the cursor again.
After taking a screenshot, you can record your voice while
making graffiti on it, and store it in an MP4 video, either locally or on Microsoft
server. If you choose to keep it in Microsoft server, you can also share a link
to the video.
Microsoft Snip is the work of Microsoft's Garage, which
actually has created a lot of interesting applications for different devices. Although
still in beta version, Microsoft Snip has been able to be obtained for free.
