The development of streaming technology has revolutionized
the way we consume digital content. At this digital era, it's not only music or
movies that can be streamed via the internet connection, but also video games
with the help of streaming services such as Nvidia Grid or PlayStation Now.
Even a few months ago, Sony announced that its game
streaming service can be enjoyed directly from the television, without having
to connect to PlayStation console at all. As long as you are using a compatible
Samsung's Smart TV and you live in a supported area, you can pay a subscription
fee to play PS3 games directly on your TV.
Recently, Samsung's smart TV users get a new alternative.
US-based game streaming service, GameFly, has just announced its collaboration
with Samsung. So, in addition to PlayStation Now, Samsung's smart TV owners can
also play the games by using the streaming service from GameFly.
GameFly offers a subscription rate of $ 7 per month.
However, this rate only includes seven titles, unlike the PlayStation Now that
offers higher rate, i.e. $ 20, but for the entire games titles available in its
catalog. Some popular titles from the 40 games that are offered by GameFly are:
Batman Arkham Origins, Lego Batman 3, GRID 2 and F.E.A.R.
About compatibility, GameFly claims that its game streaming
service can be enjoyed in the majority of Samsung's smart TVs that are made in
2014 or newer. Of course you also need fast and stable internet connection, and
also USB or wireless controller.
Unfortunately for now this service can only be enjoyed in a
number of countries in the Americas and Europe. However, referring to the
statement of GameFly CEO, David Hodess, related to the range of Samsung
products on a global scale, it could be a sign that in the future the GameFly
will expand its service to other countries.
