One of the advanced features that are brought by Windows 10
is the Windows Hello. This feature is a biometric identification technology,
where the supported devices can recognize the users through fingerprints, eyes
and faces.
This feature is supported by RealSense technology that's
developed by Intel. Combining the standard lens, infrared lens and 3D lens,
Windows Hello is claimed to be very fast and accurate. So accurately, this feature
is believed to be able to distinguish faces of people only by showing the
photos of the people.
Is it true that Windows Hello is really sophisticated? One
of media from Australia, The Australian, did an interesting test. Rather than
using photos, they invited six pairs of identical twins to test whether the
Windows Hello can be fooled or not.
The test method was simple: one of the twins was asked to
create an account on the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 14 that's running with Windows
10, and then put his/her face in front of the camera so that Windows Hello can
recognize him/her. After that, the twin brother/sister was asked to use the
same laptop.
And the result was Windows Hello couldn't be fooled, even by
identical twins though. This could be a reference that the Microsoft is very
concerned about the accuracy of Windows Hello. We have to admit that Windows
Hello is an excellent alternative of a highly secure password.
