but unfortunately it's only applied for high-heels shoes for women. This time
Shift Sneaker also brings the same technology that allows shoes to change
color, but it's more flexible and can be applied to everyday shoes.
As a creative technology company, the +Rehabstudio proposes
an interesting idea: Buy a pair of shoes, and made it as if you have a million
pairs of shoes. The way it works is very simple, you just need to tap it, and
then the color will change according to your wish. Volvorii currently only has
black and white options, but the Shift Sneaker has much more color choices,
including the pastel and neon colors.
The secret lies in the materials used by Shift Sneaker.
Firstly, +Rehabstudio utilizes a combination of Phase Change fibers and Shape
Memory materials that can be applied to a variety of designs, and it is also in
charge of 'locking' pattern on the sneaker. Then the fabric layer is able to
bend the light and adapts to temperature. The Conductive threads are also
knitted in the membrane; it’s useful to send electrical signals.
After that, the signals will be submitted to a series of LED
miniatures as flexible screen. Its function is to display different looks and
colors in Shift Sneaker. The designs collection can be purchased on Pack Store.
The content is highly variable, ranging from safety shoes patterns up to comic
illustrations.
Through the companion application, you can download and
access various modules. Shift Sneaker can adapt following the color of your
clothes by using Selfie Pack. And via Running Pack, the Shift Sneaker will emit
green, blue or red color, depending on the daily run target. Without the need
of using lights on shoes or using special clothes, the cyclists and pedestrians
can be safer walking on the road by utilizing the Cycling Pack. If you want the
same color of shoes for you and your spouse, you can use the Connection Pack.
Since this technology is still a concept, there is no
information regarding to the release and availability of Shift Sneaker. But if
+Rehabstudio really produce this breakthrough, there will be a lot of potential
that can be explored from Shift Sneaker.
