Indeed Micro Drone 3.0 is not the smallest drone in the
world, the title is still held by Wallet Drone, but it's still very small when
compared with standard quadcopter. This drone has a height of 5 cm, 14.5 cm in
diameter and weighs 56 grams (71 grams with a camera module).
Micro Drone 3.0 excellence lies in its ability to maneuver
in the air while capturing interesting moments. The camera is integrated with
the 2-axis gimbal and easily removable. The video quality may not be the best,
but 720p 30 fps is far better than no video at all, right? Interestingly, the
video that's being recorded can be forwarded directly to the smartphone so that
you can control the Micro Drone 3.0 from the camera viewpoint. More
interestingly, this feature is compatible with Google Cardboard VR system.
In addition, the Micro Drone 3.0 developer has pinned
integration live streaming of Meerkat. Using a companion application on a
smartphone or tablet, you can directly broadcast the Micro Drone 3.0 video
recording to Meerkat.
From a technical perspective, Micro Drone 3.0 has a maximum
speed of about 70 km/h. If you use a smartphone, this drone can be controlled
up to a distance of about 15 meters, or 90 meters if using a controller with a
radio frequency of 2.4 GHz. It is equipped with 6-axis gyroscope and
accelerometer to balance itself while flying.
Micro Drone 3.0 small body is only able to bring small
capacity of battery, 450mAh, which means that it has only about 8 minutes air
time. Even so, the modular design allows you to remove and replace the battery;
it's so practical and easy to use.
Micro Drone 3.0 is offered at $ 125 through a campaign in
Indiegogo, plus $ 20 for international shipping cost. This bundle includes
Micro Drone 3.0 along with the camera module and Google Cardboard VR headset.
