Water is essential for human body, but unfortunately most of
us probably don't get enough water intakes every day. Of course the amounts of
water to be consumed are varies depending on the activity of each person.
But what if we are too busy and forget to take enough water?
This is the role intended by HidrateMe, a smart drinking
bottle that's undergoing a campaign on Kickstarter. This product offers a
simple idea: to be water container and at the same time becomes a personal
assistant to remind you to drink.
HidrateMe is made of plastic, and is available in five
colors. The maximum water volume that can be accommodated is 710 ml, or a
little more than medium bottle of mineral water you normally buy in the shop.
The lid is claimed anti-leaking, while the battery is believed can last for a
year.
In this bottle, there is a sensor that will monitor how much
water you consume. The data collected will then be sent via Bluetooth toward a
companion application on the smartphone, and the central part of the bottle will
glow white to remind you to drink after a while you haven't consumed water.
HidrateMe companion app will also make calculation on how
much water you should drink based on physical data and your activities every
day. Interestingly, this application can also track your location; it's useful
when you're in a hot and dry location, the recommended amount of water will
automatically increase.
HidrateMe campaign on Kickstarter still leaves about four
weeks but the target has been met almost tenfold. If you are interested, there
is pledge worth of $ 45 - not including the international shipping cost.
