Not long after entering the University of Technology of
Compiegne, Guillaume Rolland, a 18-year-old entrepreneur from France creates a
smart solution. Instead of using loud sound to awaken people from sleep,
Rolland is using fragrances as an effective medium. He assures that the
fragrances are much more effective. Through this idea, SensorWake is introduced
in Kickstarter.
SensorWake is claimed as the first
olfactory (sense of smell) alarm clock in the world. Unlike noisy alarm sound,
the scents work progressively. It doesn't make users wake up because of
startled by the loud alarm, but it's very effective. SensorWake makes you wake
up with a clear mind - happy and calming are some basic points why Rolland
creates the SensorWake. The developer believes that the positive elements can
be found in a variety of simple things such as a beautiful morning and pleasant
aroma. They want to present positive atmosphere every day.
SensorWake works in simple way, at the designated time, the
alarm clock will issue a combination of two fragrances. For now, the
available scents are:
- [NEW] American breakfast: Bacon & Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice
- Continental breakfast: Espresso & Hot Croissant
- Candy Rush: Sweet peach & Strawberry candy
- Enjoy the break: Seaside (monoi, tiare flower) & Lush Jungle (cut grass, leaves)
- Invigorating Aromatherapy: Purifying Tea Tree & Harmonious Chocolate
- Vitalization Aromatherapy: Stimulating Ginger & Invigorating Pepper Mint
- VIP lounge (for Kickstarter Backers only): Dollar & Ebony Luxury
SensorWake has gained a variety of health certifications and guaranteed not to trigger allergies. Through trial session which's followed by 100 volunteers, the device managed to wake 99 people in less than two minutes. What about those who have trouble with their noses because of the flu? SensorWake will sound if you don't respond within three minutes.
If you are interested, you can get SensorWake through
crowdfunding platform Kickstarter, there it's sold starting from € 80. Delivery
is planned to be done in November 2015 for the backers.
