Phone Finder allows BlackBerry users to find the lost device via SMS

Phone Finder for BlackBerry

Despite having a bit slow sales, BlackBerry smartphone still has loyal users, some application developers still roll out their latest applications to be paired with the BlackBerry.

Nemory Studio, one of the BlackBerry applications developers is still continuously creating a number of applications to be pinned on BlackBerry 10. One of their newest applications called Phone Finder - previously called Where's My Phone - comes to help the users to find their BlackBerry device when lost or stolen.

Other platforms such as Android and iOS have long had similar applications. There is an application for Android called Android Device Manager, while iOS platform has Find My Device application which can be managed through the user's iCloud account.

Just like the above applications, the Phone Finder application for BlackBerry also has the ability to perform multiple commands remotely to the lost BlackBerry device. Among others are changing the theme to be black, change the device's profile, ring the alarm, delete data and other features. Interestingly, it can be done by simply sending a short message or SMS to your lost device.

Currently, Phone Finder application is still presented in beta version and the users who already have access to BlackBerry Beta Zone page have been able to try the application.

BlackBerry previously has had a native application that has a similar function called BlackBerry Protect, but the Phone Finder offers something different, the application can be used without requiring Internet access.

Users can send command and get information from the lost BlackBerry device through short messages or SMS, so user doesn't need to open the website and enter the BlackBerry ID account to remote the lost device.
