Zeiss Batis

After presenting a series of lenses with unique names, Otus and Touit, now Zeiss comes up with their latest innovation called Zeiss Batis.

If Zeiss Touit was presented for Fujifilm and Sony mirrorless cameras, Zeiss Batis is more exclusive because it will only be available for Sony full frame camera with mount FE. Zeiss provides Batis in 2 variants with different focal distances: First is the 25mm with F/2 aperture that's suitable for panoramic and landscape photos; while the second variant is 85mm with F/1.8 aperture that's suited for portrait photos.

This screen will display the focal distance information and the depth of field (DOF), which can be useful for photographers to determine the desired composition. Besides fitted with an innovative OLED screen, Zeiss Batis is also anti-dust and weather resistance. In fact, the 85mm variant has been equipped with optical image stabilization.

Zeiss Batis 25mm F/2 is offered at US$1299 and Batis 85mm F/1.8 is sold at US$1199, both of them will be available on July 2015.
