Perhaps in this era, there are only some people who still remember about Grundig. Formerly Grundig was known as an electronic manufacturer, its 14 inch TV was quite faithful in accompanying children to play Super Nintendo after school.
Although its products are now somewhat hard to find, but Grundig still continues to innovate. Grundig is recently on a mission to change the way we operate the kitchenette. They introduce VUX (Virtual User eXperience). VUX is a new control system that combines projectors and touch technology, changing the way we operate kitchenette drastically, which typically relies on a rotary knob or button.
Simply put, Grundig VUX involves a mini projector that's mounted on the top of a kitchenette such as induction cooker or dishwasher. The virtual control panel will then be projected onto the surface of the furniture, which you can operate by touch, just like the way you operate a mobile device.
Buttons and sliders that are displayed are not static; everything can be programmed based on needs. When the virtual control panel is covered by a large skillet for example, the projection will be moved to another position.
In addition to projecting a virtual control panel, Grundig VUX can also project a visual indicator as a guide on where you should put the pots and pans. When the induction plate is heating up, the red projection will appear so that you can know which areas are hot and which are not.
Grundig VUX's potential and flexibility are immense due to its ability to synergize with a number of devices. VUX can also project the video. When you have a baby monitor camera for example, VUX can display it livestream from the camera so that you can continue to monitor your child while preparing dinner entree.
Grundig VUX's benefit is not limited only to its flexibility. In terms of aesthetics, the system can make your kitchen looks more minimalist. Furthermore, the stains and dirt can be easily cleaned because your stove is simply just a flat surface with a virtual control panel on it.
Grundig VUX is currently still under development and refinement. According to the plan, in the second quarter of 2016, this system can be enjoyed by consumers at home.
