BlackBerry recently expanding the BBM capabilities of iOS
and BB10 version with new features aimed at helping people to stay connected
with acquaintances who are not in the BBM contact list but exist in the users'
phone contact list.
BlackBerry has been providing notification in the form of
e-mail to all the participants of the BlackBerry Beta Zone. Both of platforms,
iOS and BlackBerry10 are updated with identical features, but the iOS version
has some additional options and also more bug fixes.
In this latest beta version, users can send BBM only by
matching email address. BlackBerry promises that the personal information, such
as avatars and status updates, won't be visible until they are added as a
contact.
Next, Timed Message and Retracted
Message features become subscribe items available at BBM Shop. By becoming a
customer allows users to gain unlimited access to Timed Message and Retracted
Message. Meanwhile users who don't subscribe will only be able to use both
features maximum for three messages.
As for the iOS version, there are several other
enhancements:
- New display for BBM Voice
- The ability to hide sticker package of chat
- Improvement of Group image
- Can select contacts by categories when sending multiple messages or broadcast
- Conversation backup feature using iCloud
- iPad fully support
In addition to the above features, BlackBerry also performs
various bugs fixes, specifically for the iOS version, such as the bugs in
Passcode user only, the display of profile name, the error message between iOS
BBM version that doesn't support the Address Book, and the iCloud error in
reading the conversation data.
The new beta version is available for users who have joined
with the BlackBerry Beta Zone, while for iOS users can try it out through
