Spotify official app arrives for Android TV

The streaming music service, Spotify, is officially presenting its first application for Android TV. This application will allow the owners of Android TV devices to browse and listen to music with a wider screen sensation directly in the living room or bedroom. Currently the application can already be found in the Google Play Store but it only supports the 5.0 version or newer.

The presence of this official app is good news for the owners of Android TV. Previously they were only able to enjoy the Spotify songs collection from a third party application named Emma for Spotify. This client application has been pretty good, but Emma for Spotify doesn't support free account, so only premium users who can use its service.

Spotify Music for Android TV allows all users, whether free or paid users, to play favorite playlists, watch album collections and discover top chart hits. The application will utilize the wide screen to provide different sensation for the users.

In a statement, Spotify also said that this new application can run on the majority of Android TVs. But to ensure it, you can check the list of supported devices at android.com/tv/
