Browsing on Google App for iOS is now faster

Google has just released the version 15.1 update for its iOS app. Although this update is fairly simple but its impact is fairly important for the user's experience.

The main update of this newest version is the support of Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP). This feature basically allows articles from a number of websites to open instantly when users touch it, much like the Instant Articles feature of Facebook which also cuts the loading time drastically.

The articles that are available in this AMP format will have lightning symbol, and users can see it at the "Top Stories" after performing a search. In essence, browsing by using Google application on iOS will be faster thanks to the support of AMP.

In addition to the AMP support, users can also enjoy video highlights of various sporting events directly from the cards displayed by Google Now. Simply touch the Play button and the video will be played directly within the application.

Google also fix its application performance so that the loading can be faster. This change may not be so pronounced, but Google claims that the performance improvement can save time about 6.5 million hours of total usage of Google app for iOS.

The Google application also now displays the peak hour of a location directly in the search results. IPad users who use a Bluetooth keyboard are also benefited thanks to the support of keyboard shortcuts so that they can navigate without touching the screen.

Google App for iOS version 15.1 can now be downloaded directly from the App Store.
