After it was announced in last November, Sonny finally gives
certainty about when PS4 Remote Play feature for PC and Mac will be available.
Starting on April 6, through software update version 3:50, all PS4 users could
play games on their PC or Mac that are in the same network.
The maximum resolution that can be streamed only 720p 60
fps. So no matter how sophisticated the graphics card specifications of your
PC, the quality can’t be more than that. By default, the selected resolution is
540p 30 fps.
Remote Play feature can be enjoyed on devices with Windows
8.1, Windows 10, OS X 10.10 and OS X 10.11. Users must download and install the
Remote Play application first, after updating the PS4 software system to
version 3:50. Another important note is the Remote Play can only be enjoyed
using the Dual Shock 4 controller that's connected via USB.
The update also brings a new version of the PlayStation App
that brings a number of updates to its social aspects. There is a new option
named Online Status, where users can choose between performing Online or
Offline, if they want to play the games without having to be bothered by chat
from friends.
PlayStation App is also able to provide notifications
whenever there is a friend who is online. In the Events tab, users can schedule
an event to play game together with their friends by setting the time and the
name of game. At the specified day, users who are included in the list will be
automatically entered into the party.
