WT72 6QN ProVR

MSI has just introduced the latest variant of its professional notebook named WT72 6QN ProVR. It is the first world's mobile workstation that can handle VR, equipped with Nvidia high-end graphics chip. With this new notebook, MSI tries to carry VR into content creation realm.

"Create anything, and work anywhere," is the motto of Micro-Star International in revealing the WT72 6QN. The heart of this mobile workstation is Quadro M5500 GPU and Nvidia Designworks VR - a set of APIs, features and libraries - allow the developers to mix VR-based high quality works.

And because the graphics card is optimized by independent software vendors (ISV), designers are welcome to try the content directly and modify it with the software. With it, the benefits of VR could soon be felt: this technology will cut the time that's required for creating prototypes and shorten the development process. The WS72 6QN is prepared both for design and visualization.

Phisically the WT72 6QN ProVR looks identical to other mobile workstations in WT72 series. You are presented with a 17.3-inch screen, there are options of full-HD resolution and 4K (3840 × 2160), and the panel has been calibrated based on True Color technology. This procedure ensures more accurate color representation, approaching 100 percent sRGB. For input system, there is full-sized keyboard and Shortcut Manager feature to simplify the commands.

And with ISV certification, the device is compatible to the software of Autodesk, Dassault Systems, PTC, Adobe, and others.

For connectivity, WT72 6QN ProVR is equipped with six USB 3.0 ports, a USB 3.1 type-C (Thunderbolt 3), Mini DisplayPort, HDMI, Killer Gaming Network E2400, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1.

There are three variants offered, the difference lies in the type of processor and screen resolution. WT72 6QN ProVR is priced starting at US $ 5,500 to US $ 6,900.
