Instagram Launches Video Channel on Explore

Although it's originally designed as a medium for sharing photos, but since 2013 Instagram has provided video elements into its service, allowing users to record and upload videos up to 15 seconds. Based on observations of technology media, this step is an attempt of Facebook to compete with Vine of Twitter. And apparently, the video feature on Instagram is very popular today.

Instagram continuously improves the quality of its video feature, at the end of March, Instagram decided to extend the duration of the recording video up to 60 seconds. And especially for iOS devices, Instagram plans to restore the capability of making a video from the clip in the camera roll. As it goes, the developers give an update for the Explore appearance, which is now presenting a video channel.

The changes can be immediately seen from a personalized channel named 'Video You Might Like' which contains a collection of videos from the global community. Then when you are exploring the Explorer, you'll see the 'Featured' channel that's filled with videos on a specific topic. Although the majority of the clips are still running less than 15 seconds, but it presents a constant stream so that it can be enjoyed as long as you want. Uniquely, you can tap the like and follow an account without the need to leave the Explore tab.

Apart from these changes, the function of the Explore tab remains the same. It will connect you to the interesting posts of people who you haven't followed. The more you like, the content of Explore will be better because it will be more personalized, presents your favorite videos optimally. And if you do not want to use it, you can tap "See Fewer Posts Like This' on the '...'.

At the beginning of this year, Instagram had experimented with Explore; it presented awards events such as Grammy, Oscar and Golden Globe in its service even though the feature was only available during the event. And recently, Instagram had launched the Coachella channel video in the app - the annual music and arts festival, held at the Empire Polo Club California.

However the update of Explore can’t be enjoyed by all Instagram users yet, this new update is currently available only in the United States. The developers promise that they are working hard to bring it to the whole world.
