Adidas recently works together with the Interactive Health
Technologies (IHT), a provider of platform that's connected to sports
education. They produce a wearable device named Adidas Zone. This device is a
tough fitness tracker that's designed specifically for the needs of school students
in doing sports activities.
The main function of Adidas Zone is to monitor the heart
rate of users when they are running their activities. These data will then be
stored in a cloud-based curriculum that can be easily accessed by teachers.
From there, teachers can develop the more personalized activities, adapting to
the needs of students individually.
Data synchronization is done via NFC, and the students can
monitor their heart rates during the training through the screen of Adidas
Zone. Adidas doesn't explain how long the battery could last, but it certainly
could operate following the busy schedule at school.
Adidas and IHT will cooperate with educational institutions
that are interested to adopt this device. So far Adidas Zone will be available
only for schools in the United States. But there is always possibility Adidas
will expand similar program to other areas, especially if this device can give
a good impact for students' health.
