Having previously spoiled its users through new features
such as Charts and Stations, SoundCloud is now trying to get out of its comfort
zone by introducing a streaming music service ala Apple Music and Spotify.
Named SoundCloud Go, this service is the collaboration
result of SoundCloud together with leading music labels such as Sony Music,
Universal and Warner Music Group. Therefore, SoundCloud Go will also present a
collection of songs from famous musicians alongside indie contents, as already
exist so far.
Thus, in theory the streaming experience that's offered by
SoundCloud Go could be more unique than its rivals. The combination of indie
music and the music of big labels becomes a key feature of SoundCloud Go in
competing in music streaming industry.
Furthermore, SoundCloud Go also offers other advantage
compared to SoundCloud standard service. Customers can enjoy the ability to
save songs and playlists for offline playback, and the ads won't disturb them
at all.
SoundCloud Go is offered with a subscription fee of $ 10 per
month (or $ 13 per month if it is enabled via in-app purchase option in the iOS
app). SoundCloud also offers a free trial for 30 days before charging the
subscription fee.
For now, SoundCloud Go is available only for US users;
however SoundCloud is planning to expand this new service to other countries in
the next few months.
