Google Drive app on Android so far has helped the users in
managing various files that are stored in the cloud storage service. Of the
same application, we can also see the preview of files, but unfortunately when
we want to edit it, we have to come out of Google Drive and open it in the
editor application that's connected to the drive, such as Google Photos or
Google Docs.
Luckily in the latest version of Google Drive for Android,
you will be presented with simple update that can overcome the discomfort you
used to face. This update brings a shortcut in preview mode, where the users
can directly edit the file in other application only with one button.
So for example you open a document in Google Drive, you can
touch the blue edit button located in the bottom right corner, and then you
will be automatically moved to the Google Docs to revise the document, similarly
to the photo, where the shortcut will take you to the Google Photos.
Google doesn't mention in detail what apps that are
supported by Google Drive's shortcut. But based on Engadget's testing, even the
default photo editing application of Moto X Style is also supported by this
shortcut, which means that users are free to choose whether they want to edit
the photos in Google Photos or in the default application.
This update perhaps sounds simple,
but at least now the Android users can more easily manage the files and also
edit the files that have been stored in Google Drive.
